Jacinto has a long history of photographic artwork and documentation. In this latest series he created color still life images from his home and paired them with black and white photos that he hand painted. The series offered him an opportunity to not only appreciate and share the beauty of the world around him, but to use the year of creating this new body of work to contemplate, regroup, and restrengthen what his personal beliefs are.
"In this work, Louis Jacinto does not ask us to forget what is outside the frame. Instead, he encourages us to focus on what is inside it. The still life, at its core, has always been an argument against erasure; the reassurance of these objects, colors, and beloved things matters. Life. Still. offers no resolution or relief.
