“Bird Circuit” refers to a historical route of queer-friendly venues with bird-inspired names, The Blue Parrot, The Swan, The Red Raven, silent signals of sanctuary when queerness was criminalized. This exhibition reimagines that coded language through a body of work created over the past three years, including paintings, sculptures, and video art by Vojislav Radovanović.

In this video, artist and curator Jason Jenn offers in-depth commentary on the themes, materials, and symbolism behind the work, situating it within a broader context of queer history, contemporary figurative painting, and personal myth-making.

Presented by LA Art Documents, this film is part of an ongoing series dedicated to contemporary art practices, with a special focus on queer, LGBTQ+, and emerging voices in the visual arts.
