“The Revolting Lumpen!”

LACE is the longest-running incubator for contemporary artists and curators in LA. This year, LACE presents The Revolting Lumpen!. a video installation and performance by Los Angeles-based artist duo Beck+Col. The Revolting Lumpen! a classical opera explores alternate universes populated by monsters. The monsters are at once silly, playful and exceptionally brutal. As the title’s play on words suggests, the work relies on humor and chaos to speak to contemporary economic and social structures.
